5 Reasons to not buy HP or Compaq Laptops!

Even though HP and Compaq seem like decent companies, they are well known on the bad side of the laptop market. Many people who purchase laptops from HP or Compaq experience many failures including my self. I have owned both laptops from Compaq and HP and boy I am not happy. Read on to see 5 reasons why not to buy HP and Compaq laptops. (Please note that this is in my opinion and i am not comparing or putting down and company).

5.Short life.

4 years ago my cousin bought an HP laptop and he took really good care. He faced no problems until 1.5 years passed. And I think that's the average lifetime for an HP or Compaq laptop. It is really short for a laptop. After that in 2008, he bought a Dell Inspiron laptop and it is working perfectly until today's date (27/07/11). So that's a major reason because HP/Compaq laptops are not cheap...

4.Battery Life sucks.

In January 2010, my sister got my a HP G60. I was really happy with the performance until July, 2010. The first problem I encountered was that the battery died, and laptop won't turn on without charging. I had to send my laptop to HP support, and got it fixed. Later in October 2010 I had the same problem, and same solution. Later in February I had the same problem, but I got a new battery shipped from Tokyo. Later in July, 2011 I had the same problem and got the same solution, new battery. Now its July 26, 2011 and I had it fixed like 20 days ago and now my battery dies in like 1 hour, full charging.

3.Heats up to fast.

I use it for average 1 hour constant and after 20 mins of use it heats up. Its like I have a freshly looked dish on my lap. I really hate it. My Compaq laptop is better then my HP laptop but Compaq is about 50 mins which is not bad.

2.Loose Jack.

In 2007 , my Compaq laptop got a loose jack, and so did my dads Compaq laptop in 2009. In 2010 my HP laptop had the same problem. I thought it was my fault but many people encountered the same problem. I had to pay $50 to get it fixed.

1. Horrible Quality.

Have you ever wondered why HP and Compaq laptops are cheap, its because they use the worst quality equipment. I own a Dell laptop and I never sent it to get it fixed. The bottom line here is that what you pay for is what you get. HP laptops are cheap but they are nothing compared to Toshiba or Sony. I wont compare Apple laptops because now that's just a different story.

In conclusion, I would not prefer HP or Compaq laptops, having owned 1 laptop from HP and 2 from Compaq, I did not feel comfortable using it. Save your money and your lap from heat, DO NOT BUY LAPTOPS from HP or Compaq.
