Kinect Sensor Review

Kinect sensor released November 4th 2010 in USA and since then it sold over 10 million units. Of course not all consumers were happy with Kinect just like any other gadget. But my self as a consumer, I love Kinect. Its a great way to get exercise and not break your TV screen. Unlike Wii, where you would have to buy a remote and by accident the remote slips out of your hand and hit the TV screen, the Kinect you can play without anything. Many people wonder why should I get a Kinect for $149.99 when I can get a Wii for that much. Well as you see, for Wii every player needs his/her own remote while on the Kinect, second player can join and it will automatically split. Therefore, the Kinect is cheaper for family play or if you play with friends often. The Xbox Market shows that there are currently 37 games for Kinect and many more to come. I haven't played many games as I just got my Kinect last week. It came with a free copy of Kinect Adventures which is fun but childish. I also got Kinect Sports Season 2 which in my opinion is LIVE. I love playing Tennis. Its fun yet original. But there is a bit of lag with the Kinect sensor. For example when you hit a shot, the racket sometimes moves after 1 second even after you swing your arm. That is a bad part about it. The microphone on Kinect is quite good and it listens quite well. The camera on Kinect is not bad, but its not that great either if you know what i mean. The video chat is good through PC and Kinect and I think is a useful point as many people want to use Skype on TV but cant, therefore, this is a great alternative. The Kinect looks really good and the glossy design is nice. The auto focus on it is just amazing. The price as i mentioned is $149.99 but is on sale now for $99.00 (In Canada). In short, price is reasonable, games are fun, and camera is good. So its definitively worth a try.

The Akash Tablet is now here folks! Akash means sky in Hindi and the $35 tablet has arrived. It is the worlds cheapest tablet and runs on Android 2.2 software! As we all know, India isn't the richest country in the world but is now helping it's people to get their hands on the new tech. The average house hold income in India is less then $1000 USD. Most of the people cannot afford to pay $600 for and iPad, so I think this is a great product for residents of India. The 7 inch tablet is 350 grams, while the iPad 2 with WiFi is 600 grams. On February 4th, 2004, the world's most famous social network was created. Facebook. Since then, Facebook has came through many changes and updates. Some are good, and some not so much. Some of the good changes include the side chat box and better profile options. Although these are good ones, there are also bad ones including today's update (09/21/2011). Many people are complaining about updates due to privacy issues and Facebook is no longer easy to use. When you go to update your privacy settings, there are many options but are complicated. No one has time to read all those options, who open another popup where you have to continue on. Its just like no one has time to read the terms and conditions. If you go on Facebook now days, many people are talking about Switching to Google +. For example my friend said "Facebook is chaining! Time to go to google plus yet?" So is Google + really worth switching to? Is it better then Facebook? Well these are all really good questions, but can really depend on the situation. As you see, now days, you have everyone added on Facebook. From your Grade 1 friends, to your co-workers to your family. Google + is new therefore, you can't find all the people you would find on Facebook. If you do switch to Google +, you will find it different from Facebook, this is good and bad as well. The good: Well the good is that unlike Facebook, you can just post what ever you want and you can share with the selected circles (Circles are basically groups like family, friends, co-workers, etc. ) whereas on Facebook you would have to go to settings, then choose the limited profile people, and so on. Google + is easier to use. The bad: well if you use Facebook, then you must know the add as friends (if you don't know what add as friend is, then you must be living in a rock) On Google +, anyone who finds you can click add in circle. You do have to kind of add them back but once they click add to circle, they can see your friends. What i recommend? What i really recommend is that you make a Google + and keep Facebook. Find your finds via Facebook and add them on Google +. In 2-3 years (or less) Google + will have many people just like Facebook. Give it a chance, there is no risk :)

iPhone 5 Rumours

In today's world, there are many phones with great features. Android, Windows phone, Blackberry and many others. An all time favourite has been iPhone. With the release of iPhone 4, many phones were launched with bigger screen like the Xperia Play. The play has a 4'' screen 854 x 480 pixels. Of course Apple had to make iPhone 5 with better features then the other. So in this post, you will find some basic features the could be possible, well of course we are not sure if it will happen but these are the most talked about rumours.

1.Bigger screen.

The iPhone 4 has a 3.5 inch screen with 960-by-640 pixels , most likely, Apple will make a 4 inch screen fro the iPhone 5, due to Android phones with large screen.

2.3G FaceTime.

Many people have been talking about FaceTime in 3G, of course you can get that right now if you have a Jailbroken iPhone, but for those people who did not jailbreak, then you might get the option to FaceTime in 3G.

3.Better camera.

Apple is working to make the camera better. A camera that can shoot full HD movie. Currently the iPhone 4 has 5 MP camera, while many Androids have 8 MP camera. Therefore, Apple is really competing with Androids, so it is likely that they will make a better camera that shots 1080p Video.

4.Better Processor

I am really sure that they will make a better processor. Apple will have to make a better processor that will make it at least 2x faster then the iPhone 4, otherwise it won't cut it.

5. New Design

I am hoping Apple make a new design. It is very likely because iPhone 3G was a different shape then the iPhone 4.

No one knows how it will look like, but it might get changed so lets just wait until September.

In my previous post, I mentioned 5 reasons why not to Jailbreak and iPod Touch or an iPhone. In this post, I will tell 5 reasons to jailbreak.

Jailbreaking can be really useful at times. Could be used for convenience, better looks, and comfort. Are you confused if you should Jailbreak your IOS or not, read here.

5.Themes.

I think the best part of jailbreaking ur device is that you get free themes (not all themes are free on Cydia but there is a way to get it for free) There are many themes to chose from. Themes enhance your experience of using your device. Most completed themes include lock screen, app icons, background and some even include sounds. You can also separately download keyboards and other things.

4.SBsettings.

Jailbreaking your device means you get your hands on SBsettings. SBsettings is a bar on top of the screen, it controls brightness, Bluetooth, Air-plane mode, Wi-Fi and a lot of other stuff. It is really a big convenience because you dont have to go to the settings much to change some general thing. For example if you are playing Flipside 5 hockey and want to play with Bluetooth mode, you don't need to close the app and restart, just open SBsettings and turn on Bluetooth. Easy right?

3.Free Apps (Please note that downloading paid apps for free is illegal. Support legal downloads )

Installous is available through cydia. It is a replica of the app store but offers all paid apps for free.It is also use full because you can access app store from a different country. For example if you live in Canada and want to access the US app store, you can though installous!

Jailbreaking is easy and only takes 10 minutes or less. I think its worth your 10 minutes because after wards you get a lot of benefits.

There are some useful apps on cydia, like Wi-Fi sync. It is paid but you can get it for free.

In conclusion, I think Jailbreaking is worth its time mainly for all it's benefits.

5 reasons why not to jailbreak iPod touch or iPhone.

Although jail breaking and iPod touch or iPhone may be useful at times, there are also a lot of problems one faces when he or she jail breaks their device. In this post you will find 5 reasons why not to jailbreak your Apple device.

5. Warranty expires.

It is against Apple`s warranty agreement to Jailbreak. If you Jailbreak your device, apple takes no responsibility to fix it. Even if you get warranty for like 2 years, and if your device breaks, then Apple won`t fix it.

4. You may be restoring a lot.

If you have a Jailbroken device you probably have themes for your device. Some themes can brick your iPod or iPhone which means your device is not capable of doing anything, I my self have restored my iPod 2 times. I tried backing up but none of my stuff came back. All your data will be lost.

3.Crashes

Your device will be crashing a lot, maybe you are changing themes using winterboard, or using some apps, your device will crash a lot.

2.Glitches

With your Jailbroken device, you will encounter many glitches. For example, your keyboard will respond slowly, apps will take longer to load, apps will crash and etc. Even when your in Cydia, it will take long to reload data and updating all your Cydia products at the same time will lead into bricking. Happened to me once.

1. Illegal apps.

Even though installing paid apps for free from installous seems like a pleasure, it is against the law to download these apps. It is considered piracy and could lead to trouble. One might think its hard to get caught, but the FBI is working hard to increase their security and are going to soon catch people. You might never know when they are tracking you.

Jailbreaking does have some good benefits, but it does come with its downs. These 5 reasons are just the beginning there are also security issues as well as updating IOS issues. These are the 5 reasons why one should not jailbreak thier apple device.

PlayStation 2 best console ever?

Well I have seen many times on the internet that people compare PS3 and Xbox 360. They both are really good consoles, I have owned PS3, PS2, and Xbox 360. But both my PS3 and Xbox 360 gave me problems but my PS2 never gave me problems. In May 2005, I bought a PS2 slim, now its almost August 2011 and I didn't even face one problem. Many people are switching because there aren't any good games any more. In this post I will compare all 3 consoles and tell you which one is better. To begin with, my old Xbox 360 gave me 2 red rings of death in less then a year. In July this year, I bought an Xbox 360 slim, and my disc tray got jammed under a week of purchase. I only opened the disc tray 3 times. My PS3 is still good but I don't play it much because of the fear of YLOD ( Yellow Lights of Death.) and also that my CD got stuck in and I had to take in out manually. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 call themselves "Slim" yet they are really not that slim. This is because of the hard drive that's inside. PS2 is the real slim one here, its really thin reason being you have to buy the 8MB memory cards separately and there is no HDD. But I am telling you, in the past 5 years, I never had the fear of my PS2 over heating, I remember staying up all night and playing PS2. The graphics are not that bad for a 2005 console. There are also couple of good games. So if you don't want to waste money on a console and fear of overheating, I say you buy a PS2, you can get it for $89 new and trust me there are some good games.

5 Reasons to not buy HP or Compaq Laptops!

Even though HP and Compaq seem like decent companies, they are well known on the bad side of the laptop market. Many people who purchase laptops from HP or Compaq experience many failures including my self. I have owned both laptops from Compaq and HP and boy I am not happy. Read on to see 5 reasons why not to buy HP and Compaq laptops. (Please note that this is in my opinion and i am not comparing or putting down and company).

5.Short life.

4 years ago my cousin bought an HP laptop and he took really good care. He faced no problems until 1.5 years passed. And I think that's the average lifetime for an HP or Compaq laptop. It is really short for a laptop. After that in 2008, he bought a Dell Inspiron laptop and it is working perfectly until today's date (27/07/11). So that's a major reason because HP/Compaq laptops are not cheap...

4.Battery Life sucks.

In January 2010, my sister got my a HP G60. I was really happy with the performance until July, 2010. The first problem I encountered was that the battery died, and laptop won't turn on without charging. I had to send my laptop to HP support, and got it fixed. Later in October 2010 I had the same problem, and same solution. Later in February I had the same problem, but I got a new battery shipped from Tokyo. Later in July, 2011 I had the same problem and got the same solution, new battery. Now its July 26, 2011 and I had it fixed like 20 days ago and now my battery dies in like 1 hour, full charging.

3.Heats up to fast.

I use it for average 1 hour constant and after 20 mins of use it heats up. Its like I have a freshly looked dish on my lap. I really hate it. My Compaq laptop is better then my HP laptop but Compaq is about 50 mins which is not bad.

2.Loose Jack.

In 2007 , my Compaq laptop got a loose jack, and so did my dads Compaq laptop in 2009. In 2010 my HP laptop had the same problem. I thought it was my fault but many people encountered the same problem. I had to pay $50 to get it fixed.

1. Horrible Quality.

Have you ever wondered why HP and Compaq laptops are cheap, its because they use the worst quality equipment. I own a Dell laptop and I never sent it to get it fixed. The bottom line here is that what you pay for is what you get. HP laptops are cheap but they are nothing compared to Toshiba or Sony. I wont compare Apple laptops because now that's just a different story.

In conclusion, I would not prefer HP or Compaq laptops, having owned 1 laptop from HP and 2 from Compaq, I did not feel comfortable using it. Save your money and your lap from heat, DO NOT BUY LAPTOPS from HP or Compaq.

How to prevent Xbox 360 from the red rings of death!

Xbox 360 is a really nice console and is really cheap for its quality.1080p gaming, halo series and good looks but of course it comes with is cons. Many people encountered the red ring of death. My old Xbox 360 got 2 red rings of death under 1 year of purchasing. In this post you will find out how to prevent from the red rings of death.

1. Keep it away from dust.

I had my xbox on my entertainment console, bottom shelf. The dust from my TV's fan came directly into my Xbox's fan. Also keep it off the carpet because all the dust from the carpet goes in your xbox 360.

2.Make sure it has good airflow.

The fan is on top so do not put anything that blocks it for example CD covers, remote controls, etc.. Also keep the back at least 1 foot away from any thing that might be at the back.

3.Give it a break.

Do not play your Xbox more then 1 1/2 hours constantly. Give it a break and then continue playing afterwards. If you hear the fans, it means its time to turn it off. Even if you don't hear the fans give it a rest, because it might be to late when you start hearing the fans.

4.Clean it.

Every once in a while, clean all the vents and even the cover. The dust builds up and reaches the fan, reducing the performance as well as the life.
